More than ever, people need skills that will help them get better jobs and earn more money. WERC Hernando is a rapid learning program specifically for Hernando County residents who were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic through job loss, reduced hours or reduced wages. WERC provides training in the kinds of jobs that pay more and can be done from virtually anywhere.
Using a combination of self-paced online training, technical mentors, and digital cohorts, you can get certified quickly and put your new skills to work in fields like information technology.

Once Enrolled in WERC, learners will be issued a laptop from the WERC Lending Library if needed. They willl then be assigned to a cohort, a mentor, and establish a weekly meeting schedule where they will be able to ask questions, get help, and help hold each other accountable.
For the following 80 days learners will learn new skills and upon completion of the program recieve industry recognized Career Certification from Google that verifies you know your stuff and have the skills to start working in IT!
Who is WERC designed for?
To participate in this no-cost program, you must provide documentation that you have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic – loss of job, reduced hours, or reduced wages.
This program is designed for individuals who have no prior IT training. It is recommended for anyone wanting to acquire the skillset necessary to enter the IT field, without the time investment required by more comprehensive degree programs.
